Remembering Tom Gwalter
Remembering Tom Gwalter
Story
Celebrating the life of our beloved Tom.
Tom's presence brought immeasurable joy and inspiration to our lives, and we will forever cherish the memories we shared with him. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing, exploring new places, and embarking on thrilling adventures. Tom's zest for life was contagious, and his gentle nature and warm smile touched the hearts of everyone he encountered.
Despite being given a prognosis of only six months to live, Tom was offered the opportunity to undergo immunotherapy, which granted him an additional two and a half years of cherished time with us. We are eternally grateful for those extra years and the priceless moments they allowed us to share. Throughout his journey, Tom demonstrated immense courage, resilience, and strength, never uttering a single complaint about his own struggles.
Tom received exceptional care from the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF). The unwavering support and guidance provided by the MHF helped us navigate through the darkest moments. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Mater Hospital and Hospice and all the staff who worked closely with Tom, including Dr. James Lynam and Dr. Gupta.
In lieu of sending flowers, we kindly request that you consider making a donation to the Mark Hughes Foundation. By supporting the MHF, not only do we honour Tom's memory, but we also contribute to the ongoing efforts to find a cure for brain cancer, provide vital resources and assist patients and their families in their time of need. Our ultimate hope is that one day, no one will have to endure the pain and suffering caused by this devastating disease.
We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our family and friends for the overwhelming love and support we have received. Your presence, kind words and generosity have provided solace during this challenging time.
With love and gratitude, Jane (Mother) & Beth (Sister)
