Syd was a dedicated husband, together with wife Wendy for 42 years, an extremely proud & supportive father to Rick, Jessica, Megan and their partners. For the last 4 years Syd doted on his 'little buddy', Granddaughter Lottie. He was a founding member of the Port Welshpool Coast Guard where he served for 40 loyal years. Syd loved everything fishing, boating & diving with those he loved the most...
Syd, you put up a mighty fight, giving what time you had working for your family & mates until the beast growing in your brain cruelly overwhelmed and took you from us. Passing at home, surrounded by the love of your family on Thursday 17.6.2021. You will always be remembered as the hard working, loyal, generous & dedicated man that you were. You will be forever loved.

The Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) is a charity formed in Newcastle by Mark and Kirralee Hughes following Mark’s diagnosis with Brain Cancer in 2013. The Mark Hughes Foundation’s mission is to raise much needed funds for research, to create awareness and support brain cancer patients and their families.
