Remembering John Clarke
In October 2017, at 56 years old, my dad, John, was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma. At the time, his amazing medical team was able to remove as much of the tumor as possible and helped him to fight through the long, tough rehab process. Dad was always a lover of life but became even more determined to appreciate every moment life had to offer following his diagnosis. He loved his family, in particular took great joy spending time with his grand children, and certainly cherished every moment he spent with us. After a tough three years, Dad passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people he loved the most. His legacy will live on in so many ways, including through the Mark Hughes Foundation, whose efforts in developing best practice models of care for brain cancer patients align so closely with Dad's passion for helping those who need it most.
